International EuParl.net Conference 2013

The Hague 30 May – 1 June 2013

The European Information and Research Network on Parliamentary History (EuParl.net) organizes its next international conference in The Netherlands on the perceptions, interpretations and memories of parliaments and parliamentarism in Europe. Experts from different parts of Europe speak about The Ideal Parliament in the 19th, 20th and 21th century.

EuParl.net is the collective endeavor of seventeen prestigious national institutes and projects, wishing to lead the way in creating a new European parliamentary history. The partners in EuParl.net examine the development of the ideology and structures of parliaments on a transnational basis, including the European Parliament and the phenomenon of antiparliamentarism. EuParl.net considers understanding the heritage of parliamentarism critical for the future health and development of democratic politics and institutions.

This conference will be organized in collaboration with the Montesquieu Institute.

More information on the conference and how to apply can be found here.
